About overbid.in
A weekly leaderboard for Indian brands. Pay in rupees, climb the board, and start again every Monday.
The board opens on 1 December. Until then, brands can join the waitlist.
What it is
overbid.in is a public ranking of Indian brands: startups, D2C labels, SaaS tools, creators and anyone else selling online. Brands bid in rupees to rank higher, and the brand with the most put in this week sits at #1. Every spot links to the brand and counts the clicks it sends.
Why it exists
Getting noticed online is expensive and murky. Ad prices change by the minute, and it's hard to know what you're paying for. Here the price of every spot is on the board for everyone to see, it's the same rules for a two-person startup and a big brand, and you know exactly what you get: a rank, a link and a click count.
It's also meant to be a bit of fun. A board that resets every week means there's always a new race, and a new chance at #1.
Where the idea came from
The idea comes straight from outbid.lol, a public leaderboard where products pay to rank. We loved it, so a big shout-out to them. overbid.in is our take for India: bids in rupees, UPI at checkout, GST included, a reset every Monday India time, and categories that fit Indian online businesses. We're not connected to outbid.lol; we're just fans.
How it makes money
From the bids, and only the bids. Every spot is a paid placement, clearly labelled as sponsored, and links to brands are marked that way too. There's no free ranking for friends and no hidden way to the top: the rules are the same for every brand. Payments go through Dodo Payments, which handles the checkout and the GST invoice.
Who's behind it
overbid.in is built and run in India by Ankit Sharma. It's a small, new project, so if something looks off or you have an idea, I'd genuinely like to hear it.
